Our Coast: Then, Now, Next - Coastal Detective Challenge

Our Coast: Then, Now, Next, is a coastal detective challenge that has been created by the Future Coast Dorset to encourage inter-generational conversations around coastal change and adaptation.

The aim of this challenge is to encourage children to explore and share how their local coastline has changed over time, and how it might continue to change in the future. By talking with older generations, participants can capture memories of the past, then compare these with what the coast looks like today, and then imagine future changes. Through creative responses like photos, drawings, or short stories and interviews, the challenge helps build a shared understanding of coastal change and raises awareness of the evolving relationship between communities and their coastline.
